We are looking for one Medical Illustration Intern to support science-inspired visual initiatives, internal brand evolution, and potentially client-facing projects. This role focuses on leading visual and design development, creative planning, and project building for both internal storytelling initiatives and external efforts.
The ideal candidate is passionate about the intersection of science, storytelling, and design — and is excited to take ownership from concept research through to final execution, ensuring cohesive, strategic visual communication across all projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have strong design and illustration skills, and excellent writing abilities to support creative planning and project development. They should be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive in communication, and comfortable managing tight deadlines in a remote team environment. An interest in science-driven marketing, strategic storytelling, and creative entrepreneurship is highly valued.
- Developing branded and unbranded deliverables for client-facing projects
- Design and produce original 3D science-inspired artworks for internal initiatives, marketing, and brand storytelling.
- Lead upstream creative planning by proposing project scopes, setting themes and timelines, and drafting internal proposals and creative briefs.
- Conduct scientific and creative research to inform storytelling, ensuring conceptual depth, scientific accuracy, and alignment with broader trends.
- Help build scalable workflows and internal processes for visual content production, ensuring consistency across projects.
- Collaborate closely with team members and leadership to align creative outputs with project goals and quality expectations.
- Participate actively in team meetings, document key action items, and support project tracking.
- Attend client meetings and leave data and information internally on shared documents.
- Communicate proactively about project progress, challenges, and creative recommendations.
- Organize team creative reviews by scheduling and preparing meetings, gathering review materials, and facilitating feedback collection.
- Embrace feedback loops and contribute ideas for continuous creative and process improvement.
- Support the maintenance and organization of shared visual asset libraries.
Skills and Interests for success:
- Extensive experience using design software, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and Canva.
- Strong academic background in biology, biomedical sciences, or related life sciences fields
- Excellent writing skills for drafting creative plans, project proposals, and strategic briefs
- High attention to detail across both creative and project management tasks
- Ability to plan and manage multiple creative projects simultaneously
- Strong research skills across scientific, conceptual, and creative domains
- Entrepreneurial spirit with comfort working in ambiguous and fast-moving environment
- Self-motivated and able to manage independent work in a remote environment
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Flexibility to iterate and adapt based on feedback and evolving project needs
